(ATLANTA, GA) — As allegations that City of Atlanta workers threw a birthday party for a co-worker with a stripper performing grow, newly elected Mayor Shirley Franklin visited a water treatment plant within the city limits of Atlanta to interview witnesses about the event that appears to have gone too far.
"I have zero tolerance for abuse… And I know most of the workers at the plant weren’t involved, " Franklin told WSB TV in Atlanta on Monday. The party apparently occurred last week on city time.
One person interviewed made a claim that there is more to the story than the Mayor would have preferred to hear, and there was a larger crowd than expected at the event.
Franklin promises a thorough investigation.
