(CHATSWORTH, CA) — While still only in its second full year of DVD production, Wicked Pictures emerged as a leader of the pack in Adult DVD Empire s recently announced Empire 2001 Awards nominations. Leading the way in nominations is Jonathan Morgan’s the Gate, an impressive two-disc set that received seven major nominations, the most of any single release

Wicked Pictures received a total of 15 nominations, including Best Feature nods for both the Gate and M: Caught in the Act. The Gate also garnered nominations in the Best Extras, Best Overall DVD, Best Video Quality DVD, Best DVD Menu Design, Best Audio Quality, and Best DVD Commentary categories. Morgan s M: Caught in the Act also received nods for Best Overall DVD, Best Video Quality DVD and Best DVD Menu Design.

Other Wicked titles to receive recognition include Brad Armstrong’s Mirage, which was nominated for Best All-sex DVD. And the Best Foreign DVD category saw Wicked represented by two titles Meridian Makes a Movie and the Video Marc Dorcel import Amnesia. As a company, Wicked Pictures also received recognition in the Best DVD Studio category.
