ED (Exotic Dancer) Publications, producers of the ED Club Bulletin magazine and Annual VIP Guide, as well as the Annual Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo, has merged two of its national industry trade magazines, Teeze and Adult Store Buyer, into one new ”super” trade publication called Storerotica Magazine. The move is designed to reduce production costs while creating a magazine with a much larger circulation geared to the broader universe of owners and operators of intimate apparel and adult retail stores.
Teeze Magazine was started in Spring 2004 to cover the intimate apparel and lingerie retail industry, while Adult Store Buyer Magazine was started in the Summer of 2005 to cover the adult products retail store industry.
”What we have seen recently is that the line between these two industries has blurred,” said ED Publications’ & Storerotica Publisher Don Waitt. ”Lingerie boutiques and intimate apparel retail stores are now carrying adult toys and novelties, and traditional adult retail stores are now augmenting their DVD and adult product sales by carrying lingerie and intimate apparel. The reasons for this development are, first that retail store owners realize they can offer their customers a wider range of products, and second that women and couples are much more open today to visiting erotic retail stores to purchase products to enhance their sex lives.”
Mr. Wait said: ”The magazine is more about what happens within the four walls of those retail stores rather than what happens outside. Our editorial focus is almost exclusively on store operators and decision-makers-how to make more money, how to simplify operations, how to stop theft, how to manage inventory and personnel, how to avoid legal problems and how to grow your business.”
Beginning with the December 2008 issue, the bimonthly Storerotica Magazine will be mailed for free to more than 10,000 retail stores and boutiques, and more than 2,000 intimate apparel and erotic product manufacturers and distributors. The magazine will also be distributed at the industry’s top conventions and tradeshows, including the International Lingerie Shows in Las Vegas, AVN’s Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, AVN’s Adult Novelty Expo in Los Angeles, the Halloween & Party Expo in Houston, and the HCP Show in Las Vegas. The magazine will be audited by BPA Worldwide, the largest magazine auditing company in the world.
The magazine has also launched an interactive website, www.Storerotica.com, that has daily news updates, industry forums and blogs, new product announcements, store owner and vendor profiles, convention coverage, and a searchable database of preferred vendors. The website generates revenue through advertising and banner sales and will also offer special value added coverage to advertisers. The magazine will continue to produce the annual Storerotica annual convention and tradeshow in Las Vegas.
The principals behind Storerotica Magazine have been in the industry trade magazine and industry convention business for 30 years. ED Publications, has published magazines and reference guides and produced conventions and tradeshows for the multi-billion-dollar gentlemen’s club industry since 1991.
