Myles’ Weekend Adventures: Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. For starters, I have received an e-mail from Tara Lynn Foxx thanking me for my recent write up in regard to the evening I spent with her at the Rialto Spearmint Rhino.
In said e-mail, Tara Lynn informed me that her new official website is: TaraLynnFoxx.com.
By the time this column has been published, Tara Lynn’s new official website will have been officially launched. So everybody should pay the site a visit and check out Tara Lynn and her content.
Let us now move on to the news everybody has been waiting for!
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo 2011
Wednesday morning, January 5, 2011, I left the house and drove up to Las Vegas, Nevada, checked into Cancun Resort, and went to the Sands Expo Center to pick up my press pass.
I had decided that this made a lot more sense than hitting the road no later than 4AM Thursday in order to get there, pick up my pass, and be ready when the convention opened at ten o’clock that morning.
After I picked up my press pass, since there didn’t appear to be anybody around to stop me, I went into the convention hall, where some of the exhibitors were setting up their booths. My purpose was to find Bill Margold and deliver a message to him for my editor-in-chief, Steve Nelson.
By the time I finally found Bill, Steve and fellow AINews.xxx columnist, Tiki Pavelle, were sitting and speaking with Bill. Oh well, I tried.
While searching for Bill, I ran into Serena Marcus and one of her charges, Alison Tyler. (They were busy setting up Serena’s booth.)
When I was leaving the convention halls, I ran into my sweet friend Brooke Haven. And, the second time I ended up in the same wrong parking garage, by two different routes, thanks to well intentioned, but misguided, people, I had the good fortune to come face to face with the still beautiful Cytherea. How many years it has been since I last saw her, I have no idea. (Even though this was only the second time I had met Cytherea in person, she remembered me after several years! What a memory! I can barely remember when my own memory was that good!)
Wednesday evening, a beautiful feature dancer, Kylea Killeen, an industry photographer, Brody, my editor-in-chief, Steve Nelson, and fellow AINews.xxx columnist, Tiki Pavelle, all joined me at the Sahara Hotel and Casino. Once we had all met up with each other, we enjoyed, “Striptease the Show,” compliments of the producer, Jim Hayek. (Jim and his wife, Ann Marie Hayek, also own and operate the Pure-Talent Agency.)
Also there to see the show were Nikki Benz, Diana Doll and Charlie Lane.
There was also a fellow and a beautiful woman, whose names I can’t remember, there watching the show. I believe Taya Parker introduced the gentleman as the current owner of Penthouse, and I think the woman was a former Penthouse Pet. However, I could be wrong. It has happened a few times before.
After the show, I introduced everybody to the star and hostess of the show, my dear friend Taya Parker, and we had a nice chat with Taya.
Thursday, January 6Th
Thursday morning, I attended the Adult Video News Adult Entertainment Expo.
Just before reaching the convention hall, I came across some people who had massage chairs set up to one side. Since my lower back was already aching from all the rapid paced walking around I had already done the day before, I allowed said people to talk me into getting a ten minute massage for twenty dollars. (I should have waited until Sunday for that brief massage when I really needed it! If I were a wealthy man, I would have climbed into one of those chairs several times a day, everyday!)
Some of the people I already knew, or have met at least once before, that were there on this day, either signing, exhibiting, or simply walking around, like myself, were: Brittany Andrews, Curtis Barker, Helen Bedd. I ran into Helen as I was walking back through the hotel after the convention had ended for the day. Also saw Breanne Benson, Tori Black, Charley Chase, Dana DeArmond, Sophie Dee, Andy San Dimas, Kelly Divine, Tara Lynn Foxx, the reigning Tommy Gunn, Allie Haze, Jenna Haze, Nikki Hunter, Madison Ivy and Sunny Lane.
Other people I ran into on this day that were already known to me were: Devon Lee, Rebecca Love, Jenni Lynn, Kelly Madison, Serena Marcus, Teagan Presley, Evan Seinfeld, Kelly Shibari, Bobbi Star, Alison Tyler, whom I met Wednesday afternoon, Vicky Vette, Dia Zerva, and last but not least, all the Wicked Pictures ladies, namely Alektra Blue, Stormy Daniels, jessica drake, Lupe Fuentes, Kaylani Lei and Kristen Price.
I met for the first time on this day: Asa Akira, Alexis Ford, Shay Fox, Bibi Jones, (I met Bibi for the first time as we were both leaving at the end of the day.) Lily LaBeau, Daisy Layne, Jynx Maze, Selena Rose, Heather Starlet, Hollie Stevens, Teagan Summers and Zoe Voss.
Friday, January 7Th
Friday morning, I went back to the convention for the second day. On this day, in addition to the people whom I knew that I had already seen the day before, I ran into: Brittany Amber, Joanne Angel, Julia Ann, Lisa Ann, Vicki Chase, Misty Dawn, Jada Deville, Europe Dichan, Ashley Fires, Jenny Hendrix, Jessica Jaymes, Ron Jeremy, and Kagney Linn Karter.
I ran into Kagney as I was walking back to my car for something I had forgotten. I noticed her standing to one side in front of the ticket booths, and she wasn’t looking too happy. So I went over to say hello and to see if anything was wrong.
Kagney told me that the powers that be wouldn’t give her a pass and let her in. Somebody had apparently screwed up, because Kagney had been told that her name wasn’t in the system.
Nice guy that I am, at least when it comes to beautiful women, I asked Kagney were she was supposed to be signing. I learned that she was supposed to sigh in the Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club’s booth.
I told Kagney to wait right there. I then went back into the convention, located the booth, and told the gentlemen running things about Kagney’s problem. Then I headed back out to complete my errand, stopping to let Kagney know that the fellow was coming out to try and fix the situation. Apparently he succeeded, because the next time I saw Kagney, she was inside the convention and looking much happier.
I also saw Shy Love on this day.
I ran into Shy as I was hot-footing it back to my car to change my glasses. Yes, that was my errand. Once I was in the convention hall, I realized that I had done everything I needed to do with the exception of changing from my sunglasses to my regular glasses. (I still miss my youthful 20/20 vision!)
On my way out of the convention area, I stopped at a booth out front to speak with Lexi Lamour via a webcam set up.
At the convention on this day, I also saw: Diamond Kitty, Sunny Leone, Marcus London, Bree Olsen, Phoenix Marie, McKenzie Miles, Tee Reel, Misty Stone and Puma Swede.
Puma will be feature dancing at the Gold Club Centerfolds, in Rancho Cordova, CA., Wednesday, January 19Th, through Saturday, January 22ND. She will also be signing in the Gold Club Video Boutique Couples Superstore from 5 to 8PM Friday and Saturday evenings.
Also at the convention this day were: Flower Tucci, Ava Vincent, Randy West and Cassie Young.
I additionally saw Christy Canyon and Nicki Hunter, who were preparing to conduct their Playboy Radio show.
The new people, at least new to me, that I met on this day were: Catalina Cruz, Scarlett Fay, Missy M. Gold, Sophia Lynn, Rachelle Lynne, Marie McCray, Natasha Nice, Athena Pleasures, Roxie Rae, Sinn Sage, Heather Vahn and Caramel Vixen.
Legends of Erotica
Friday evening, I attended the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame inductions for the first time ever. (It was my first time. The annual event has been taking place for years.)
I managed to arrive about a half an hour late, but fortunately, it would appear that I didn’t miss anything too important.
When I arrived, Toni Andreas, Luna Azul, Jill Kelly, Bill Margold and Ava Vincent were seated on the stage. Actually, Toni was standing on the stage giving a tribute to the late Howard Hurley and all the fans in general.
Mr. Margold has told me that sometime before I arrived, he had, “passed the bear,” for Nina Hartley. It seems that Nina has been having some health problems and needs some help.
The bear was again passed around toward the end of the event.
Bill has told me that three hundred thirty-three dollars were collected. (I’m assuming that was a grand total. Too bad it couldn’t have been more.)
The Hall of Fame inductees on site for this year’s event, in order of their inductions, were: Jill Kelly, Lisa Ann and Mr. Marcus.
Jill was inducted by adult film director, Wesley Emerson. (I hope I spelled the name right.) … Lisa Ann was inducted by a good friend of hers. (I didn’t catch a name, but I believe the fellow was a friend/fan and not a part of the industry.) And Mr. Marcus was inducted by Lexington Steele and Julian St. Jox.
I had information that Dyanna Lauren and Patty Plenty were also to be inducted, but they were nowhere to be seen.
I have called Bill Margold, and he has told me that Dyanna will again be on the list of inductees for 2012. As for Patty Plenty, that appears to be up in the air for the time being.
Upon my arrival, my new friend, Brody, was already there taking an untold number of photographs.
Brody and I were joined by Kylea Killeen and Devin Dubbs shortly thereafter. (What a pleasure it was to meet Devin. She is a very nice, and quite sexy, young woman!)
Saturday, January 8Th
Saturday morning, I again returned to the convention where I came into contact with: John Allyen (Actually, I believe I had already ran into John earlier in the week, if my memory serves me correctly.), Lexi Belle, Brittany Blaze, Lizzy Borden, Daisy Duxe, the original Tommy Gunn and Elizabeth Starr, Dynomite, Bibi Jones — I had previously met Bibi early Thursday evening — Christi Lake, Jack Lawrence, Chastity Lynn, Minka, Imani Rose, will Ryder, Sunset Thomas and Angel Vain. Of course these were all people whom I knew or had met at least once before.
The people I met for the first time on this day were: Scotty Coxxx, Bobbi Eden, Roger T. Pipe, Lily Cade, Izzy Charm, Tiffany Starr and Taylor Stevens.
Sunday, January 9Th
Sunday, I attended the last day of the 2011 AVN convention. While there I had the good fortune to run into: Nyomi Banxxx, Kayden Kross, Tory Lane, Summer Leigh, Jenni Lynn, Magdalene St. Michaels, Prinzzess and her sister Cherokee (not to be confused with the adult film stars Cherokee or Cherokee D’Ass.), Ann Marie Rios, Draven Star, Brandy Talore, Valentino, and Taryn Wylde.
On this day, I met for the first time: Vanessa Blake, Diamond Jackson, Jelena Jensen, Kleio, Paige, Phoenix and Lalani Renteria. Lalani plans to enter into the adult film industry soon.
Unfortunately, I didn’t attend any of the AVN AEE related parties. Having spent hours on my feet and walking around every day, by the time each day had ended, I was suffering so many older man aches and pains, all I had the energy to do was to drive back to where I was staying, eat, and go to bed.
I might not have even attended the Legends of Erotica, but when I discovered that my illustrious editor-in-chief and Tiki had to cover other things that evening, I decided that I had to go cover the event.
In spite of any and everything that might not have been quite the way I would have liked it, I did have a great time at the AVN AEE. And I sincerely hope that AVN will again invite me back as press next year. If so, I will most definitely be more than willing to do it again!
I do not know of any event held west of the Mississippi River that attracts nearly so many adult entertainment celebrities as does the AVN AEE. It is a great event and a ton of fun. Not only is there the convention and the AVN Awards Show, but there is generally more related parties than one person can possibly attend. I know that the parties started on Wednesday evening this year, and I believe there may have even been at least one related party on Sunday night.
Any and everybody who is the least bit interested in the adult entertainment industry should save up the money and make the arrangements to attend the AVN AEE at least once in their lives. Of course, once they have attended once, they will almost certainly want to return again and again!
That will do it for another year, the AVN AEE that is, not this column. We should all met back here the next time and continue the discussion of hot women! Until then, everybody stay safe, have a great week, and live life as if there were no tomorrow!
