I am the executive director and creator of Erotikos Film Festival (EFF) being held September 15-22, 2012 in Jamaica. This is our inaugural event and we are elated by the open reception we are getting around the world. Seventeen countries submitted films and music videos; twelve representing countries will have their work screened for at our weeklong destination film festival.
EFF is a one of a kind film festival designed for women and the men who adore them. While there are a few other erotic film festivals in the world, they all have a high propensity toward pornography. With pornography having a predominately male audience, I’ve created a product for an audience more inclusive of feminine desire and curiosity.
Erotikos is walking the line staying to this side of erotica – to test our ability to use art, intrigue and creativity to heighten our sexual and sensual expression. It does not mean there will be no sex. It does mean it will be wrapped into the story being told, rather than sex being the story itself.
Zalman King’s final film, Zalman Kings Pleasure or Pain, is just one of the erotically inciting films we will be screening. Our film festival is also unique in that we are being hosted by the notoriously sexy resort, Hedonism II, in Negril, Jamaica.
This week-long event will be filled with day and night parties, great films, sexy people and steamy seminars to enhance our understanding of the difference between Erotica and Porn. It is an experience that will transcend to a state of mind – one that is open and free of fear and judgment surrounding our innate desire for sexual pleasure. That is my mission.
I am a very curious woman with a variety of professional hats; I’m a registered nurse, health educator, yoga therapist, sex columnist, and radio talk show host. These are my day jobs. Erotikos Film Festival is the culmination of all my years helping people get comfortable with their personal expression of sexuality and sensuality. EFF is an extension of that as an artistic feast for those with an erotic appetite.
I look forward to discussing this in greater detail with you – this is an exciting new direction for adult entertainment, which is mainstream yet edgy. I am available for radio interviews, after all, there is only one Inaugural Erotikos Film Festival in the world and we want to share.
