(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has released a public service announcement (PSA) featuring owner of Sunlust pictures and Vivid contract star Sunny Leone for the Restricted to Adults – RTA Website Label.
The Sunny Leone RTA PSA will debut at the 2009 AVN Awards in Las Vegas on January 10th and will also be shown at the Internext Expo which takes place January 12 – 14th at the Palms Casino Resort. The PSA features Leone reminding companies to protect children and to protect their business by labeling with RTA.
A longer version of the PSA, that encourages parents to use parental filtering software in order to protect children from viewing age-inappropriate content, is now available for viewing on YouTube.com/ASACPRTA. The video is the third in an ongoing series of PSAs produced by ASACP featuring different adult entertainment stars. Previous RTA PSAs featured Stormy Daniels, Tera Patrick and Evan Seinfeld.
Roy Karch Productions donated consulting and editing services to ASACP to help create the video. Roy Karch is an AVN Hall of Fame Director and he has been producing films for over thirty years.
RTA is the adult entertainment industry’s initiative to protect children from viewing content that is age-inappropriate. It was developed by ASACP out of a need for an easy to use and internationally recognized label that designates content for adults only. The RTA label is a unique string of ”meta data” which can easily be inserted into the computer code of any website. Parental filtering software recognizes the tag and prevents children from viewing adult content. The RTA label is free and universally available. ASACP launched RTA in November 2006 and currently over 4.5 million sites have labeled with RTA.
”We are so grateful to Sunny Leone and Roy Karch for donating their time and energy to make this newest RTA PSA possible,” stated ASACP CEO Joan Irvine. ”Certainly the Restricted to Adults – RTA Website Label would not be possible without the support of the industry and we appreciate the continued support of the industry to help us expand the reach of RTA by labeling with it and by helping us create these valuable public service announcements.”
Leone added, ”I love that I am a part of an agency that really does make a difference in adult industry. I am very against underage children having access to content that they are not legally allowed to see. Nor should they be exposed to material they are not ready for in life.”
Irvine will be attending the AVN Awards and Internext Las Vegas and will be available to answer questions regarding the Restricted to Adults – RTA Website Labeling initiative.
RTA has been honored by the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership, Washington, DC. Additionally ASACP has received Certificates of Recognition from Congresswoman Jane Harmon, the California State Senate, the California State Assembly, and the Mayors of Los Angeles, San Diego, Redondo Beach, and the City of West Hollywood acknowledging ASACP’s efforts to help parents prevent their children from viewing age- inappropriate content with the RTA website label.
Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP battles child pornography through its Cp reporting hotline, and by organizing the efforts of the online adult industry to combat the heinous crime of child sexual abuse.
