This weekend, the California Democratic party will be holding elections for the Assembly District representatives to the party. We are proud to announce that APAC President Ela Darling is running to be a Democratic Assembly District Delegate in District 39. She is running under her legal name, Rebecca Rubinstein, on a progressive platform with a slate of other like-minded candidates.
During the fight against Prop 60 last year, our industry worked hard to gain political sway with each political party in the state. By having a voice representing us within the Democratic Party, Ela is hoping to be able to make the needs of our industry heard on a grander scale than ever.
Ela is seeking one of 14 available seats in District 39 (map of this district is attached), which encompasses the northern part of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, including North Hollywood, Sun Valley, Mission Hills, Arleta, Lake View Terrace, Sunland-Tujunga, Pacoima, and Sylmar.
We encourage anyone registered to vote in District 39 to come out and vote for Ela on Saturday. Voting, which must be done in person, will take place at El Cariso Park Multi-Purpose Room, 13100 Hubbard Street, Sylmar, CA 91342. Candidate speeches begin at 10 am and registration and voting is from 10:30 am-12:30 PM.

This is a huge opportunity to get performer voices heard outside of the industry. Go, Ela Darling!
