(CANOGA PARK, CA) — The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) is proud to announce the new members to its Board of Directors.

Eight available positions were filled by six incumbent candidates, as well as two new members to the board. Incumbents including FSC Board Chair Jeffrey Douglas, as well as attorney Reed Lee, AVN editor Mark Kernes, Topco Marketing Director Lynn Swanson, NakedSword President President Tim Valenti, and veteran industry businesswoman Mara Epstein.

New board members include Titan Media attorney Gill Sperlein and XBIZ President Alec Helmy.

Sperlein’s expertise includes anti-piracy litigation and he has won numerous judgments against content infringers as Titan Media’s in-house counsel. This is Sperlein’s first term as a board member.

Helmy also takes a position for his first term. Helmy’s company publishes adult industry trade publications XBIZ World and XBIZ Premiere magazines, as well as XBIZ.com, an online daily industry trade news website. XBIZ also plays host to two industry trade shows, XBIZ Summer Forum held annually in Las Vegas, and the annual XBIZ Conference held in Los Angeles.

”FSC and the industry as a whole have a great deal of challenges in store for 2009,” FSC Executive Director Diane Duke said. ”I am confident that with our 2009 Board we have the right people in place to not only face those challenges, but also to take advantages of any opportunities that may help our members and the adult entertainment industry as a whole.”

Board members were chosen by the FSC membership through an online and mail-in voting process. Those elected serve for two years on the board, barring any unforeseen circumstance that prevents them from serving a full term.

Established in 1991, the Free Speech Coalition’s mission is to lead, protect and support the growth and well-being of the adult entertainment community.
