(LOS ANGELES, CA) — GodsGirls (www.godsgirls.com), an independent alternative culture social networking site specializing in erotica, announced today that they will be celebrating their one-year anniversary this Summer.
Launched in July 2006, GodsGirls has created a virtual buzz for their unique perspective on alt. culture via their website. In less than a year, GodsGirls now has more than 80,000 MySpace friends and has gained a reputation for being everything other ‘alt. erotica’ sites are not: selective. Be it cutting edge photography layouts that resemble international fashion shoots, or their models’ tattooed and pierced look, it’s no wonder their appearance in music videos by artists such as Marilyn Manson, the Sounds, Death by Stereo, Mickey Avalon, among others was almost mandatory.
“The thing that separates GodsGirls from other alt. culture websites is the almost obsessive attention to our high-fashion photo shoots and ‘alt. erotica’ models which rarely go hand in hand,” said GodsGirls Founder Annaliese. “It’s never been my feeling that just because a girl has tattoos or a piercing that she shouldn’t have high-end photographers, make up artists and stylists creating a world class photo shoot. Our members come to our site expecting to see quality photos of beautiful girls, and stay for the intelligence, wit, humor, interaction and positive experience within the GodsGirls community.”
GodsGirls was named after a lyric in a song from the band Scarlet Grey, ‘All the girls sold their souls except for Gods girls.’ To that end, the GodsGirls community is more than meets the naked eye. Editorial within the site includes everything from music (interviews, ‘Band of the Month’, tour dates, live reviews, show reviews) Horoscopes, Digital Eavesdropping (wanna know what the girls are really IMing about?), interviews with fellow members and models, random articles the girls find of interest as well as essays, features on tattoo artists and more. While chock full of nudity and suggestive content, make no mistake about it, GodsGirls is softcore modeling at its finest.
In the year since GodsGirls has launched, the site and its models have appeared in numerous publications including Jane, Spin, Skin Deep, Rock Sound (Uk) and Penthouse. Additionally, Annaliese and Model Chelsea host their own radio program on Little Radio (www.littleradio.com/shows ) Tuesdays from 2pm-4pm.
GodsGirls have also quickly become synonymous with the burgeoning clubs scene in Los Angeles and beyond. Be it weekly event at Tokio in 2006 or parties at Sutra in New York and upcoming Beauty Bar events in San Diego, GodsGirls are definitely not hiding behind their computer screens.
