(NEW YORK, NY) — Adult industry executives Theresa Flynt, Marci Hirsch and Joy King speak out on sex, feminism and pornography in the May issue of Playgirl Magazine, which hits the news stands on April 3, 2007.
From high-powered positions at the industry’s leading production companies – Hustler, Vivid and Wicked – Flynt, Hirsch and King offer unique perspectives of adult entertainment as a career choice and growing acceptance of sexuality by the mainstream marketplace.
The article, entitled “XXXecutive Women,” was written by freelance journalist Joanne Cachapero. Her stories have also appeared in XBiz World and Video Magazine, Adult Store Buyers Magazine, NyArts Magazine, Push Magazine, San Diego CityBeat, Eros-zine, Good Vibrations Online Magazine and Adult Industry News.
“With the way women in the adult business are usually portrayed by mainstream media, I thought it was important to hear from women that are professional, confident and happy with the work they do,” says Cachapero. “They all agree that whether you’re in front of the camera or behind the scenes – if you have a strong sense of self-worth and a good work ethic, you can be successful.”
The story is accompanied by photos from various DVD releases featuring Tera Patrick, Stormy Daniels, Janine, Cassidey, Julia Ann, Roxy DeVille, Tommy Gunn, and Marcus London. The May issue also includes a photo spread of up-and-coming adult performer Johnny Castle, who appears on Playgirl TV.

Known as the only adult “Entertainment for Women” publication since being founded in 1973, Playgirl Magazine has recently undergone a complete redesign. The new format will debut with the June 2007 issue.
