Remembering Jim Holliday

(SHERMAN OAKS, CA) — Inside The Sportsmans Lodge in Sherman Oaks is the Empire Room. It’s a huge room and tonight it had a lot of food in the back, tables set, all very lavish. In remembrance of Jim Holliday it was done up right.

The Angels who couldn’t make it were there in spirit. Some sent letters which were read. Angels Kylie Ireland, Shayla LaVeaux, Felicia, Katie Morgan, Jill Kelly and Monica Mayhem all said a few words sharing memories of Jim.

There were so many insiders present I couldn’t list them. I wrote down a couple of pages of names but finally gave up as most people wouldn’t know who the hell they are. That would have suited Jim fine since it was said he really liked the inside joke. So much so that his intricate scripts were laced with clues, phrases, running gags and names from previous movies he shot, as well as smoking hot sex with an unbelievable amount of A-quality girls.

Speaking were Bill Margold, Jack Gallagher, Ron Jeremy, Evan Stone, Henri Pachard, Freddie Lincoln, Dr Sharon Mitchell, Jim’s Angels, Gene Ross who also read a letter from Angel Selena Steele, Jared Rutter, Mr Marcus, Rob Spallone, Devon (D Cypher) and Monica Mayhem. All shared a deep and colorful history with Jim.

Jim Holliday profoundly affected the adult industry for decades. He was the industry historian as well as part of the history itself.

I had the pleasure to talk with Holliday the last time he made a public appearance. It was when he shot a car wash scene at the PAW charity car wash on Saturday, May 29, 2004. Jim, Bill Margold, Anita Cannibal and myself got a bite to eat afterwards and I had a chance to talk with Jim in depth for the first time.

We talked about using my car in another shoot he was planning in the desert and he made up a few lines on the spot involving my license plate, AVN and a bad review he got on a previous movie – a dig at the reviewer – thus not only making a joke only a few insiders would get, but it meant that I, although so very briefly, was on the inside with Jim Holliday.
