The Marquis Brothers, Michael Mayhem and Andrew Agony, have long felt that, with rare exception, most BDSM porn wasn’t porn at all. For the most part, it wasn’t even arousing, and more importantly, it certainly wasn’t remotely representative of what S&M is about: powerful, erotic, fun, often scary, but always sexual. The films available on the market were mostly staged scenarios of DIDs (Damsels in Distress) with MEDs (Mean Evil Dykes). Rather than continue to complain about it, they set out to change it. If Porn Valley weren’t going to make the kind of porn they liked, by God, they would do it themselves. Starting with the Real S&M Series and following with S&M Debutantes series (each at 6 tapes each), the Marquis Brothers set out to prove that S&M films could be everything S&M was — sometimes brutal, sometimes sensual, sometimes serious, sometimes funny, but always sexual. And fortunately, people bought it. Slowly, a cult with a grassroots following swelled up, buying every Marquis Brothers tape as it became available. And to the Brothers’ surprise, a huge portion of their viewers were women, throwing the concept of “couples videos” right out the window. While mainstream distribution still eludes them, plans are in the works to follow up with 12 new videos by October, including the newest addition, Bondage Blow Job Babes. Master Aaron grew up as a punk rocker listening to such bands as GBH, the Exploited, Crass, and 999.
