The Sands Exposition Center is the location for the Adult Entertainment Expo 2003 in Las Vegas. Situated behind the Venetian Hotel, every Adult Company and its stars are on hand to meet the fans.
Friday, January 10: I had a 9:30am flight to Las Vegas on Southwest Airlines. I booked the flight months in advance and was able to secure the coveted $55.00 round trip fare. At that price there is no reason to drive. As the flight was boarding, I hear over the PA, Jason Sechrest, please come to the podium. That’s the JKP publicist’s name so I look over and I see a huge grin on his face as he gets a boarding pass. It’s a full flight so I decided to save him a seat in the 5th row since I was in the first boarding group. He tells me that he missed his earlier flight and went standby. After a quick flight we landed and parted ways.
12:00pm: After getting my rental car and checking in to the Las Vegas Hilton, I grabbed some lunch and was off to the Venetian Hotel to visit the AEE. It was my first time and it looked like a good turnout. I worked my way through the casino area to the press room. I picked up my badge without a hitch and wish to thank Andrew Mun, Assistant Manager Public Affairs of VSDA, for doing an outstanding job. Digital Playground was the press room sponsor this year and they greeted the press with an open bar. I ordered a Bloody Mary and was surprised on how good it tasted. Feeling just right, I headed down to the main showroom.
2:00pm: I enter the main show area and the first girl that catches my eye is Cris Taliana, a tasty 18 year old, who is representing Jules Jordan and Evil Angel Video. She’s new and has only worked for Jules and no one else to date. The new video is Flesh Hunter 4. She is taking pictures with all her fans or admirers at this time. What’s unique about this photo is that she has the customer sit on a chair and then she straddles the guy, smiling as she looks over her shoulder for a nice memory. I had to get a photo and being thin, she had to wiggle a bit to find a nice spot on my lap. It didn’t hurt that the wiggling brought out my vertical stabilizer bar.
Next stop was the Hustler booth with February 2003 centerfold, Dreama, signing free magazines. As I wait in line, I notice that guys are just reaching over like animals to get a free Hustler magazine. They were not interested in meeting Dreama, but just trying to get something for free. She’s beautiful and turns to the centerfold, where she signs, “So Hot, Dreama, on her buttocks”; definitely worth the wait.
My next stop is the gigantic Jill Kelly Productions Booth with 10 girls signing posters, including company founder Jill Kelly herself. Also, joining the JKP team is former Private sales executive Dean Sussman, who has been brought in to oversee the expansion of JKP’s distribution arm. Mr. Sussman is responsible for bringing Nick Manning’s successful series, “Fans Have Spoken,” to JKP distribution. “We are also going to bring out a Latin and Asian series for that market with the same quality that fans expect from a JKP video,” comments Mr. Sussman. At the booth I meet Roland Aporius, a fan, who has a huge Jill Kelly tattoo on his back. “I love her movies and when I met her in Calgary two years ago, she was very friendly and approachable,” says Roland.
The next stop is Sin City, where Keilani Lei and Bridgette Kerkove are signing photos. Also, in attendance are publicist Scott Stein, director Michael Raven and VP of Production Scott Justice. The booth is pretty well laid out with a tropical feel. They have a few lounge chairs, 2 massive aquariums, and a few surfboards accenting the corners. It’s almost 5:00pm so I’ll call it a day. I’m going back to my room to clean up and change and then its dinner with a friend at Nobu in the Hard Rock Hotel. This place has great food and the typical Hard Rock ambiance.
10:00pm: On to Jill Kelly’s party at the Ghost Bar in the Palms Hotel. When I get there, I am told by Jason Sechrest that their will be a slight change of plans. Instead we were invited to a private suite for a more intimate party. The suite was the one we have all seen in the MTV series Real World Las Vegas. The place was fantastic with plenty of room for press photos of the lovely JKP contract girls, including their newest addition; Jezebelle Bond. “I have been talking to many companies about being a contract girl, but I’m glad Jill offered me the opportunity… Jill Kelly was my first choice and the main reason is that it’s refreshing to see a woman make it in this business,” said Ms. Bond. Along with plenty of drinks, the guest list included, Jenna Haze, Devon Davis, Jezebelle Bond, Shyla Stylez, Alexis Amore, Jenna Jameson, Ron Jeremy, April, Haven, Kim Chambers, Skye Blue, Alana Evans, and many others.
1:00pm as I end my night, I wish all the AVN award nominees the best of luck tomorrow; especially Jenna Haze and Shyla Stylez, who are both up for Starlet of the Year. Good luck and hope to see you on the set.
