(VAN NUYS, CA) — Vivid Interactive, the DVD division of adult powerhouse Vivid Entertainment Group, is sending forty people to Cancun, Mexico, as a reward for winning a Tower Records in-store display contest.

Four employees from each of five stores from California to New York, plus their significant others, will get fully-paid luxury vacations to Cancun, Mexico, within the next few months for their roles in creating the best point-of-purchase display to promote a futuristic new DVD title, "Interactive Shock Jock" from Vivid Entertainment Group.

David James, co-chairman of Vivid and head of Vivid Interactive, says the company will send an additional 50 winners from other stores and retail chains around the country to Cancun later in the year. The winners will be treated to lavish accommodations, meals and entertainment at what Mr. James calls "Camp Vivid."

"We believe this is the biggest in-store contest reward program ever sponsored by an entertainment company," David James said. "And it demonstrates clearly how much more mainstream the adult category has become at the retail level."

The Tower Records winners were judged on the creativity and exposure of displays for the new title that features a make-believe radio shock-jock modeled after Howard Stern. The best selling DVD lets the viewer assume the role of DJ Rodney Popshot, who invites a bevy of gorgeous erotic film starlets to his radio show. Stern’s real-life program sidekick, "Gary the Retard," helped producer Dyanna Lauren direct the feature.

Grand prizewinners from Tower Records stores in Torrance, Tustin and Long Beach, California; Carl Place, New York and Reno, Nevada include the store manager, VSM, buyer, display artist and a representative from Bayside Distributing. As runner up prizes, Vivid awarded 21" Sony Wega TV sets to four employees of stores in Washington, DC; Chicago; Austin, Texas; and Marina Del Rey and Hollywood’s Sunset Classics store in California. Four employees in twelve other stores won DVD gift boxes and T-shirts.
