(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The L.A. Erotica Show, opened it doors this past Friday the 13th at the downtown Los Angeles Convention Center. The figures of attendance are not just in yet. To this reporter who has attended every one in the past, including having my own booth at the very first one (at The Hollywood Palladium), it seemed quiet except for the three day phenomenon going on at Digital Playground.
The line formed and it seemed to never end. At one time it varied off to the right and took over the Wicked line. The fans came to see their (and my) favorite actress Tera Patrick. I figured what the heck, I’ll stand on line as well. I never did get that autograph and photo. After some length of time had past, I just gave up. But, don’t you – it’s worth getting and having.
I spoke to many of the attendees and asked them what they though. Some said, "This is fuckin’ fantastic!" Others said it is worth only what they paid. My reply was what the hell did you expect? Some seemed contented while others walked around in dismay. As always there are allot of Looky-Lous. Some attendees that came out for this event last year commented on the strange setup of the booths. It looked like a frontal assault from Wicked and Vivid and one gigantic circular motion of what looked like miniature do-hickies around them. As one prominent political figure once said, it looked like and sounded like one big sucking motion. I spoke to allot of the exhibitors and the general feeling was that some had to scrape together the nearly doubled rates for these booths. They said that they were hoping to make some of it back.
Fat Dog Video, did not have any problem hoarding in the crowds, as did M&M Sales, Fukuoku and VCA. Of course Deja Vu provided the live girl entertainment from high above. With Goldie and the girls in hand, the Spearmint Rhino had their presence as well. About mid-day, I was feeling hungry so I strolled over to the many food concessions. By the time it took to get something to eat I knew who and what was raking in the bucks.
Luminaries from the adult entertainment industry were strolling around. Dennis Hof from the Moonlight Bunnyranch, Don Ben from SexFiles TV, Dustin Flynt from Hustler stores, some prominent directors, Ben Fisher, Cash Bailey, Rob Spallone and Rodney Moore were in attendance. Adult male actors, Herschel Savage, Valentino and Chris Evans were also making their presence know.
Alana Evans and Lexington Steele were signing at Anabolic. Other signers were Serenity, Stephanie Swift, Devinn Lane, Sydnee Steele, Raylene and Dasha. Nicole Moore along with Sabrina Love Cox, husband Buddy Cox and Sharon Mitchell were signing and collecting donations at the AIM Healthcare booth. (On another note at the Hustler Hollywood store Friday evening, Tera Patrick and a host of her friends held an auction of their personal items and raised $10.000.00 to benefit AIM Healthcare. Bill Margold was present at the Free Speech Coalition booth.
Tina Toy was appearing at the Imperial Showgirls booth, while Keri Windsor was at Adam & Eve. The press was represented as well. Tod Hunter for AVN, Don Ben for SexFiles TV and Pamela Lane for Playboy Sexcetra were conducting interviews. ABC 2020 was at the AIM booth with Sharon Mitchell and Nicole Moore. Notable photographer Ken Marcus was also there. My good long time friend, and in my opinion one of the greatest photographers on the face of the earth, Don Zimmerman was in attendance.
Jill Kelly and hubby Julian, Kim Chambers, Haven, Tabitha Stevens and the girls had the crowd’s attention most of the day. On hand was publicist Brian Gross, Kim [Chamber’s] husband Scott Styles and Sin City Films’ Scott Justice. Adult starlet Syren was also present as was Ron Jeremy, Domineko and Wanda Curtis.
My day was never at a loss and never without a laugh, hanging with the man Evan Stone. Signing for Xplicit Magazine, was Sin City Films contract girl and by far one of the hottest girls around Jessica Drake. I had the pleasure of snapping these photos of a Stone/Drake touching and tender moment. Love was definitely in the air. I was surely in the right place when Keri Windsor took some time away from her booth, Jessica Drake and Jasmine without a doubt added to the fun.
Behind Closed Doors At The LA Erotica, Nicole Moore and Sabrina Love Cox, enjoy each other’s company. They had a lot of fun testing and reporting to Playboy’s Sexcetra on these and other adult novelties. Our thanks go out to Ron Miller and Craig Malone…
