(MADRID) — A regional government in Spain has come up with a novel idea for promoting safe sex discounts at youth hostels to discourage young people from having hurried trysts in cars, doorways and parks.
Antonio Fernandez, head of youth affairs in the western Extremadura region, was quoted as saying hostels should offer special low rates to young couples seeking romantic liaisons.
Timing his recommendation for Wednesday’s International Aids Day, Fernandez suggested such measures would allow young people to have sex more safely and responsibly, newspaper Diario 16 said.
“It would prevent young people from doing it in a rush in the car, in the park or in the doorway,” he said.
