(LOS ANGELES, CA) — Japanese-Irish BBW fetish performer Kelly Shibari can now add “video vixen” to her impressive string of accomplishments in her short five years as an entertainer. Germany’s most successful Neue Deutsche Härte band, Rammstein, has announced that their newest music video, “Mein Land,” will have its official world premiere on Friday, 11.11.11 – and Shibari, prominently featured in several parts of the video, is also being used as part of a promotional campaign for the upcoming world premiere.
Shibari was hand-selected for the role of a plus-sized beach bunny in the music video, directed by Swedish director Jonas Akerlund, who had asked for someone exuding the sexy confidence of current body-image icon and Gossip lead singer Beth Ditto. Akerlund is best known for his acclaimed videos, such as the Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up,” Madonna’s “Ray of Light,” Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” and the feature film “Spun”. Akerlund has directed several music videos for Rammstein, including the controversial “Pussy”.
“I was honored to have been asked to be featured in the video,” says Shibari. “I may not be as iconic nor as extreme as Beth Ditto, but it’s always flattering to be compared to someone so confident and style-forward. The video shoot was a lot of fun and both the band and the crew were amazing – a great experience!” In the video, she not only “helps” keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz with his surfboard, but dances in several group scenes, including a mosh pit scene, all of which was shot on a beach in Malibu, California.
Shibari, who started in the adult industry as a BBW performer, has been featured in a Taschen book, graced the centerfold of AVN Magazine, runs a social media marketing company, has been nominated for several industry awards and directs/produces the Feminist Porn Award-winning BBW fetish site PaddedKINK.
The song “Mein Land” (“My Country”) is Rammstein’s first single from their upcoming retrospective “Made in Germany 1995-2011”, which will be released on Friday, November 11, 2011, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The international release date is slated for Monday, November 14. In addition to their most popular tracks, unreleased songs as well as remixes by BossHoss and Mogwai are included in the album. A full European tour in support of the album has been scheduled from November 2011 through March 2012.
