(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) — Some call it “The Cesspool”, others “The Palace”. still others simply “The Cinema”. Whatever your preference, there are big changes happening at the Market Street Cinema, Stevi Secret’s San Francisco home for over 8 years. According to reports, the dancers have been directed by management that there will be no more sex on premises.

Body contact between customers and dancers shall be limited to when dancers are covered, both top and bottom. There is to be no physical contact with customers when the dancers are nude or semi nude. Management has been monitoring any private shows and enforcing these new rules.

So what happened at the most famous brothel/strip club in America? If you’ve been following the scene in “The City”, you are aware of FBI investigations concerning the illegal Asian sex trade at the local massage parlors. This now appears to have spread to the strip clubs as well. Rumor has it that Deja Vu (MSC’s parent company) issued the directive possibly under pressure from federal officials to clean up their San Francisco act. The new rules apply not only to Market Street but also New Century Theatre.

The changes at Market Street Cinema truly represent the end of an era in America’s most sexually free city. With a conservative regime in Washington, expect to see more of this type of pressure exerted on strip clubs across America.

For many years, I warned my friends in San Francisco about lap dance laws (in Phoenix and Vegas) and that someday it would come there. Now it can truly be said: If it can happen in a liberal enclave like San Francisco, it can certainly happen anywhere. It should be noted, if you live in the area (or are planning a bay visit) “extras” are still available at the (non Deja Vu owned) Mitchell Brothers O’Farrell Street Theatre, at least for the moment.
