Hi Steve,
Here is the 2nd edition of Fawnia’s Showroom Review. As you know I was in Los Cabos, Mexico From April 9 – 14th, 2001. This small town is where people head for great golfing, sun, and partying. The locals had more than what they bargained for at their local strip joint, Mermaids.
Watching the dancers, we were seated a few feet from the stage. Shortly after ordering drinks we heard random screams of pain and pleasure, coming from behind a curtain. I looked around, and the staff just smiled. The dancers giggled as they strutted around, approaching the patrons seated around us. There were more tourists here than at ‘Lord Black’. One was a group of about six women aged 19 – 22, and the other an older couple aged about 45 – 50 who at the time was engaging in conversation with a long black haired dancer. We’ll call her “Shannon”.
By the time we had finished our first drink, Shannon made her way towards us. Sitting on my lap she said, “I love your hair, do you wanna dance?” We said not right now, but thank you for asking…” It was nice to have a dancer who not only spoke perfect English, but one that was extremely forward and to the point in what she wanted from you. Shannon was not shy around women at all. Most Mexican girls are very timid, however if you’re a man, you’ll love the way they do business. Visit them to see what I’m talking about.
About 15 minutes later, Shannon came back and asked if I would like to dance on their stage. Without much hesitation, I was at the D.J. booth picking my one song, ‘Justify my Love’ – Madonna. As the music began, eight or nine dancers took their seats around the stage, and watched with great anticipation.
(To bring you up to speed, moments before I was asked to dance the six young women tourists (mentioned earlier) danced, going topless. They tried swinging around the pole, and moving without falling over each other. It was refreshing to watch girls dance when they haven’t been on stage before. They made the dancers at the club look like real pros, and the audience cheered and laughed at top volume!
Now, you and I both know that I’ve danced before, so the girls at Mermaids, along with the staff and patrons were in for a little surprise. Almost immediately after I was on stage, the cheering hushed, and everyone stared as I moved, dancing on their stage. It had been five years since my last show, and the feeling from being in the spotlight once again was amazing. The dancers and customers started tipping, along with one of the waiters. Six short minutes later, my time was up, and I left the stage with the audience applauding.
So if you are female, and are due for a visit to Mexico, check with the staff at the strip clubs if you can dance. Most of them encourage it because it’s great entertainment for everyone, and it’s one time when you know your friends or family won’t walk through the door. If you are already a dancer, keep in mind that the poles are usually made of steel or wood and are twice as thick as most clubs.
For you men, just let your girlfriends/wives have fun, and enjoy their show on Mexico’s stages!
