Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. This column will, once again, be about singing, some good, some not so good, and lots of good hearty laughs. Pornstar Karaoke Club
Tuesday evening, November 27, I drove up to Sardo’s Grill and Lounge, in Burbank, to take in a couple hours of Pornstar Karaoke Club and to help Mika Tan celebrate her birthday.
Among the people whom I knew were: Trinity St. Clair, Kiki D’Aire, Nicki Hunter, who was doing a fine job of hosting, Julia Ann, Constance ‘Connie’ Le, industry photographer Gordon Mui, Powder, director and owner of Wildlife Productions Bobby Rinaldi, Siri, Lucky Starr, Mika Tan of course, after all, it was her birthday celebration, Tony, one of the Spearmint Rhino Corporation’s elite DJs, K. Wang, and Adam Wood.
While I was in attendance, I had the extreme pleasure of meeting the beautiful and quite sexy-looking Violet Marcell.
Some of the industry people in attendance during the evening that I didn’t know, and still haven’t gotten around to introducing myself to were: Mia Ryder, and two real life sisters Natalia Starr and Natasha Starr. I was told that Natalia and Natasha came to California from Russia via New York City. (I later learned that Natalia and Natasha actually originated in Poland but moved to New York while still very young.)
Last but certainly not least, a very sharp-dressed Tee Reel make a fashionably late entrance.
Glory Stories
Friday, November 30, I went to the iO West Theater, in Hollywood, to observe, “Glory Stories,” and have a lot of good laughs.
The cast of this particular performance of, “Glory Stories,” consisted of: Brandon Barrick, Tommy Bechtold, Peter Fluet, Jason Horton, Zach Huddleston, adult film star Justine Joli who is pretty much a permanent member of the cast now, Maria Lopez, Jeff Macubbin, Josh Mattingly, Patrick Ian Moore, Neil Ruddy, Jeff Thompson, Andy Trask, and Canon Wing, and guest starring Alex Chance, April Flores, Chris Gore, and Mika Tan.
“Glory Stories,” on this night was, for all intents and purposes, a hilarious spoof of Los Angeles County Measure B and the idiot voters who caused Measure B to become an ill-advised county ordinance. (if the passage of Measure B eventually causes the adult film industry to move their operations out of Los Angeles County, and possibly completely out of California, it will be rather interesting to see the reaction of the county commissioners and those uninformed voters when thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenues suddenly disappears.)
The Improv Orgy
Once, “Glory Stories,” had ended, and after a five minute break, it came time for, “The Improv Orgy: Pornstar Comedy Jam.”
With the exception of Chris Gore, Maria Lopez, and Mika Tan, the cast for this portion of the evening consisted of the same people that performed in, “Glory Stories.”
In the audience this evening were Erica Icon, industry photographers Dominic and Gordon Mui, and Jonni Lynch.
Okay good people, that will just about do it for now. We should all meet back here the next time to see just what I have managed to get myself into next. Until then, everybody stay safe, have a great week, and live life as if there were no tomorrow!
