The last year was a wonderful one for Katsuni, Digital Playground contract star and international feature dancer. On the professional front, Katsuni starred in Pirates II, did her first scene with Jesse Jane, and expanded her skills as a director and producer. Personally, she became a Godmother to a friends’ baby, allowing her to spend time caring for a small child for the first time.
Katsuni’s career began in her native France, where she continues to perform onstage, write, and host a television show. She also danced and wanted to do on-camera scenes, and it evolved into her current situation. If she were not doing adult work, she says she’d either teach 19th century French literature or continue with her journalism career, which she enjoys because ”It’s a great way to meet interesting people.”
The star’s talent as a feature dancer is also beyond description. Her show reflects her French nationality, mixing a Moulin Rouge feel with her own intense sexuality, including the use of a glass dildo onstage. Katsuni literally prowls the stage – I’ve never seen anyone crawl in such a seductive, erotic manner, and her entire presence personifies eroticism. It is not a show to be missed.
In recent past, Katsuni had some issues with regard to her stage name. Formerly using Katsumi, she was sued in French courts by a non-industry individual with the same last name. The individual claimed to be getting harassing phone calls and other fallout from the shared name. Despite the fact that this woman was the only person in France with the name and had only cited problems recently (Katsuni had been performing with the previous name for seven years) after an expensive year-long court battle the performer was forced to change her name. Initially surprised and upset, she’s had a lot of help from colleagues and Digital Playground adjusting to the new name.
When considering what advice she’d give to Industry newcomers, Katsuni reiterates what so many successful performers attest to: Have fun, take good care of yourself physically, and do it only if it’s something you love. ”Porn is a specific job” and one must love sex and love the relationship with the camera.
