Last week I was in Des Moines Iowa and this week I am in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Having lived in the Los Angeles are for the past few years I have gotten used to the way things are there. It’s funny how you become a creature of habitat in your own little area. Traveling the country will break your little ”This is the only place on earth attitude” quickly.
Small things like the way streetlights are hung, weather you can make a U turn or not are ever changing as you pass through to different areas of the United States.
The grocery stores are different, there is no Piggly Wiggly store in Los Angles you can not ”Shop the pig” in Hollywood. In Wisconsin you are expected to though and what a great little logo they have, a smiling pig dressed in a butcher’s hat to show they have good meat. I was wondering if their pork products would be better than any of their competitors just because of there name? The things you ponder when you are in a hotel in Oak Creek, (a suburb of Milwaukee), Wisconsin.
The ”After a night out on the town” restaurants are very different. Yes Denny’s is everywhere, but in Wisconsin they have George Webb instead of Waffle House. What the hell is Waffle House you ask? Then you definitely don’t know about the Huddle Houses of the South East. All you have to do is go to any strip club in your area and they will be able to tell you where the 24 hour restaurant is in that area, and most likely it will be a name you have not heard of before.
So the next day we all go to the State fair, talk about big differences in each state. In Wisconsin it costs 8 bucks to get in and 15 dollars to park, parking is always a silly price wherever you are.
The sign at the Wisconsin state fair says ”Boys II Men Tonight”. Not what I expected in the middle of the dairy land, but they more than made up for it on the last day when they resurrected the Charlie Daniels Band to play ”The Devil Went Down to Georgia” one more time. The rest of the fair was not as exciting as sawing on a fiddle and making it hot. But we did take the time to check out the animal barn where you can really learn a lot about: 1. A goats anal opening 2. The force at which a large cow can piss downward and best of all, 3. Animal shit trapped in a hot building smells really bad. I loved the Wisconsin state fair.
You may now be asking yourself, what does a guy and his photographer and his hot feature dancing companion do after learning the lessons stated above. That my friend was an easy call. We stopped at every dirty deep frying sausage boiling vender and stuffed our now animal shit stinky mouths full of all of that nutritious fair food.
Part II
Ricky Rich and I are waiting to go to the On the Border Club to tape some of Feature Entertainer Rachelle Laree doing some of her shows. We are not just balking when we say she puts on one hell of an exciting dance exhibition during her circus like shows. Rachelle goes in before us so we can get all the camera equipment ready. We are in the car and driving to the club when we see a motorcycle cop put his lights on and zoom ahead of us, once we catch up to him at the streetlight we could not believe our eyes. This Wisconsin trooper has a guy driving a golf cart pulled over in a convince store parking lot. I began to wonder what the law was about driving to the store in your golf cart.
We make it to the club where we met up with our friend and clothing line owner Trent from Hawg & Sons Clothing. He is based out of Illinois and drove over to the club to hang out with us for the night. Rachelle had boxes of promotional stuff to throw out during her show, A! Entertainment T-shirts, Hawg & Son T shirts and those beer cozies that seem to be really popular in the Midwest, and of course her hot and sexy pictures. The crowd went wild for the show, and then for the prizes. I have to thank DJ Sean for all the great promo tags he was throwing out throughout the night. We love to hear the A! Entertainment name called out all over the country.
All in all we had a great time in Wisconsin, the fair, the club; the people were sure an experience we will never forget. Thank you to Rachelle Laree (www.rachelleandgia.com ) for inviting us and the On the Border Club (www.clubotb.com ) for all of your hospitality, oh and all the drinks too. We will be back!
