(LONDON) — A mother of two won “substantial” damages from a British men’s magazine Thursday after it published semi-nude photographs of her sent in by her estranged husband without her consent.
Kerry Kirby’s lawyer told London’s High Court how David Kirby sent pictures of his wife to Fiesta magazine after their 10-year relationship ended in 1993.
Neighbors taunted and verbally abused the woman after the magazine published four photos of her in its 1996 Black Label edition, the court head.
Before his death, Kirby fraudulently gave his wife’s consent to Fiesta and then told her children about the photos.
Galaxy Publications apologized to the woman after accepting she had not consented to the photos being used.
