(MARIETTA, GA) — A sign that promotes what the Sunday sermon will be outside Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, GA is drawing the attention and ire of parents and neighbors.
The Reverend Bryant Wright is using the sign to list the subject of his sermon each Sunday. People attending have seen recent titles like “Tough Love in Dealing with Raunchy Sex”, and “Mixing Jesus with Sex in the City”. Wright who prides himself on dealing with everyday issues had gained national attention by airing radio ads on alternative rock, and classic rock stations to attract attention to his 6,000 member church.
Church officials say they have received both positive and negative feedback about the sign, with most of the negative complaints coming from non-members and neighbors. Wright hopes to keep putting up titles on the sign that stir interest in his church.
