(VAN NUYS, CA) — Digital Playground sponsored the Video Industry AIDS Action Committee’s (VIAAC) annual fundraiser, Summer Heat on Sunday, July 28th and their contract star Tera Patrick hosted the event.
The Summer Heat celebration, held at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles combines hot dance, fashion and fun with adult, mainstream and alternative entertainment. Over 90% of the proceeds raised by VIAAC benefit organizations such as AmFar, AIDS Action, UCLA AIDS Institute, Aid Atlanta and Minnesota AIDS Project. In the last 13 years, VIAAC has donated over 2.8 million dollars to over 110 agencies throughout the United States.
A club-scene DJ spun some of the most eclectic sounds from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and today’s techno, to create a fast paced celebration of great music and runway fashion. The entire evening fused the dance, cocktail and fashion scenes into a fabulous party honoring a perceived evolution of Heaven of Hell. Tera Patrick hosted the event and introduced Penthouse Pet, Hannah Harper and industry newcomer, TJ, two of the runway models for the event. VIAAC President, Sue Procko says, “VIAAC was extremely pleased with the overall success of our first annual Summer Heat event. Tera Patrick was a fabulous host and one of the reasons the event was successful. We truly appreciate all the help we received from the Digital Playground team.”
Digital Playground, their stars, directors and employees are actively involved with many charities. In the last year, thousands upon thousands of dollars have been raised for organizations such as the 911 Fireman’s Fund, the Free Speech Coalition, AIM [Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation] and hundreds of charities benefiting victims of AIDS and the on-going research of it’s prevention, treatment and cure. Digital Playground President, Samantha Lewis says, “Tithing plays a huge role in my personal life and it is a pleasure to implement these practices professionally. As long as I can use Digital Playground as a vehicle to raise awareness and funds, I will.”
