(LONDON, England) — Adult entertainment legend and entrepreneur Candida Royalle has been invited to participate in "Talking Pleasure," a conference at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London on Saturday, December 2, 2000.
This prestigious event, the first of its kind at the ICA, will examine the relationship women have with sexual desire and pleasure. And who better to discuss the ways in which a woman experiences pleasure than the creator of Femme and pioneer of female erotica, Candida Royalle?
"Talking Pleasure" will investigate the ways in which men and women communicate with each other about the pleasures of erotica. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, this event pairs together practitioners of the erotic from various mediums – from literature and film to photography and sculpture – to talk about what erotica and pleasure mean to them and their work.
Joining Royalle on this esteemed panel will be controversial film-maker Bruce LaBruce; artist Marlene Dumas; photographer Anton Corbijn; Zadie Smith, acclaimed author of White Teeth; author of Habitus Jim Flint; artist Jemima Stehli; and artist/curator Matthew Higgs.
