ASACP on SiN2.0

(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce that its CEO, Joan Irvine, was recently featured on the SiN2.0 Adult Webmaster Podcast.

The audio interview, entitled ”ASACP RTA and How it Benefits you,” was conducted by SiN2.0’s J-SiN and features a discussion of the ASACP-developed Restricted to Adults (RTA) website labeling initiative; the latest news in the war against illegal child pornography; and the measures adult website operators can take to help – including the latest best practices for adult social media marketers.

According to the Sex Information Network, its SiN2.0 Adult Webmaster Podcast provides a knowledge base for members of the online adult entertainment industry. Reporting on current adult industry news headlines, the SiN2.0 Adult Webmaster Podcast also offers a weekly interview segment featuring a leading adult industry trendsetter that provides ”a medium to share information with the intent of assisting adult webmasters in creating more profitable, sustainable income streams from their websites and online networks.”

”You may be asking yourself what is the RTA program and what is it intended to do? How exactly does it benefit me?” SiN2.0 president J-SiN stated. ”Well I am here to say we answer these questions and many more!”

Irvine discussed the ASACP membership approval and monitoring process; the growth of RTA and the vast number of web pages protected by the label; the association’s globalization initiative, which among other efforts has led to an increasing number of website translations; and other steps that ASACP is taking on behalf of the industry.

”Thanks to J-SiN, ASACP enjoyed a great opportunity to reach out to SiN2.0’s audience of adult webmasters and other industry members,” Irvine stated. ”Education is the first step towards responsible industry self-regulation; making media outreach an important part of our mission.”

”I hope that listeners will have a better understanding of how easy it is to add RTA to their sites and why it benefits their businesses,” Irvine added.

RTA (www.rtalabel.org) is the adult entertainment industry’s initiative to prevent children from viewing online content that is age-restricted. It was developed by ASACP (www.ASACP.org) out of a need for an easy to use and internationally recognized label that designates content as being suitable for adults only.

The RTA label is a unique string of ”meta data” which can easily be inserted into the computer code of any website’s Html or mobile app offering. If parents have installed parental filtering software and setup the features in Microsoft or Apple operating systems, children are prevented from viewing age-restricted content. The RTA label is free and universally available. ASACP launched RTA in November 2006 and currently more than 14 million adult content web pages use the RTA tag to prevent access by minors.

Founded in 1996, ASACP is a non-profit organization dedicated to online child protection. ASACP is the only association in the world that coordinates the adult entertainment industry’s efforts to protect children online. It has spent more than 14 years creating progressive programs to protect children. ASACP’s relationship in assisting the adult industry’s child protection efforts is unparalleled.
