(CANOGA PARK, CA) — Capturing the best brand spanking new talent on their adult debut, Mercenary Pictures will launch its first new girl line, Fresh Out the Box, this week.
Directed by Tina Tyler, who also directs Mercenary’s IronHead series, Fresh Out the Box features fresh female faces to the adult industry, matched with experienced males, such as three-time AVN Male Performer of the Year and Mercenary owner Lexington Steele.
The first volume of the series stars Naomi, Gina, Gabriella, Alexis Redd and Jemeni. J.R. Langdon, Alex Knight, Jean Baptiste and Steele also appear in the title.
“The women you’ll find in Fresh Out the Box are new girls who, if they’re not doing their first scene, are doing one of their very first scenes,” Tyler said.
Tyler added that she wanted to create an environment that was as comfortable as possible to ease the minds of the female newcomers to the industry.
“This business can be very intimidating for someone coming in,” she added. “As a former female performer, I think I have an insight as to how to make these women more at ease for their scenes, and part of it is using experienced men who know what they’re doing. I also make sure I know what the limits of these girls are and I go over what they’ll be doing.”
“Tina, because of her insight as a female perfumer, works better with new girls in this business,” Steele said. “I thought having a man directing could get intimidating, and the only thing I’m concerned with is obtaining the best footage possible from these scenes. I have no doubt that Tina will direct the scenes excellently, as usual, and that Mercenary will once again firmly establish and entrench itself in a genre with high-quality product that will be in demand by consumers.”

Tell us about Fresh Out the Box.
It’s a brand new series that I’m helming featuring brand new girls. I’m shooting this one documentary-style with emphasis on getting to know each girl personally.
What kind of qualities are you looking for, other than being new, in the girls you cast for Fresh Out the Box?
As for any series I shoot, I like to cast girls who are here for the love of sex, who have beautiful curvy bodies and who love to show off their sexuality.
As a performer, and a female performer at that, what do you bring to the new girl genre?
As a former performer, I tend to treat my talent with a lot of respect, which in turn, has given me some great performances. Also, I’m able to get a lot more out of a girl in my interviews by treating them as a conversation between mentor and protégé. Understand, that as a woman, I see us all on the same team.
What’s the difference between the girls coming into the business now and the girls you came in with?
The older I get the younger they seem. I guess the biggest difference is the amount of time they took to get here is much shorter than it used to be. The girls now are a lot prettier, for the most part, than they used to be.
What are the similarities?
We’re all looking for some form of validation that only porn can provide.
Which girls, that you’ve shot, have impressed you and why?
Each girl has impressed me in a different way, that’s a hard question to answer. A few have had star potential, which is very exciting to see at the beginning, but I’d rather not name names.
Is Fresh Out the Box entirely your baby, like IronHead?
Yes it is, although Lex [Lexington Steele, owner of Mercenary Pictures] was kind enough to contribute some videography as well.
