(ATLANTA, GA) — Citing his history of not being able to tell the truth, defense attorney’s Steve Sadow and Craig Gillen hammered way at prosecution witness Michael Blutrich and characterized him as a witness who would say anything to get a sentence reduced.

Blutrich has testified about the Gambino crime family’s involvement with New York strip club, Scores. The defense is trying to show that by playing FBI tapes and having a witness like Blutrich testify about Scores, that this is also how the Gold Club in Atlanta operated.

Defense attorneys continued to show that the tapes played in court have no bearing on Steven Kaplan or this trial. They pointed out that Blutrich and associate Lyle Pfeiffer are career criminals who have been involved in extortion and convicted of having 30 pictures of underage minors engaged in sex acts on a computer owned by Blutrich.

Note to end the week: Citing the slow pace of the trial Judge Hunt has scheduled Friday now as work day until "the trial gets caught up to where we should be" Friday’s were originally used as a day to listen to tapes and cover business where the jury didn’t need to be present.
