(ABC NewsWire) Several members of the San Antonio City Council are vowing to force the San Antonio Public Library to restrict the ability of patrons to look at pornography on library computers, hooked up to the Internet.
Frances Smith resigned after more than 30 years as a city librarian, after administrators refused to install software which would restrict children from viewing pornography. She says men would come into the library and look at ‘hard core porn.’
Councilman Jose Menendez says everyone should be concerned about this issue, and he’s asking city officials what steps can be taken. A religious group recently ranked San Antonio’s library as one of the ‘ten most dangerous in the country’ when it comes to children and pornography.
