Stormy Daniels

They aren’t laughing now. The pundits and naysayers who wrote off the Draft Stormy campaign a few months ago seem finally to be paying attention. Perhaps it is because as Stormy made her way through Louisiana, listening to voters’ concerns, her honesty, integrity and strength of character were too evident to ignore.

While Stormy’s listening tour garnered interest from national outlets such as CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, her intelligence and candor has piqued the interest of Louisiana’s political prognosticators as well. On Sunday, ABC26 New Orleans aired Stormy’s most complete interview to date. WGNO’s Michael Hill then sat down with political analyst Jeff Crouere, who said a Stormy campaign ”could clearly make a race out of this,” citing her ownership of a small business and ability to ”win people over.”

Daniels storms Baton Rouge

The first stop of Stormy’s listening tour took her to Baton Rouge, where she spoke before a packed room at the Roux House, discussing taxes, Iraq, and protecting our children on the Internet. While sharing her thoughts on how to encourage economic success, Stormy also elaborated on her humble upbringing, noting, ”Sometimes we had electricity. Sometimes we didn’t.”

Stormy’s gracefulness and intelligence shines through in each of the numerous television interviews she gave after the event.

On to New Orleans

Stormy then took her listening tour to world-famous Serio’s Deli & Po’ Boys, where well over 100 Louisianians showed up to share their thoughts, and listen to Ms. Daniels. The Times-Picayune covered her appearance, noting that Stormy ”carries an impressive carriage… She handled the assembled press, gawkers and lunch-bucket Joe’s with casual aplomb.”

When asked if she would run, Stormy told WWL: ”I decided the responsible thing to do was to go out and do a listening tour to see what people really had to say… And then this summer I’ll make my decision.” We have little doubt that the outpouring of support during the listening tour has helped move her toward entering the race.

Next stop? The world.

The attention generated by Stormy’s listening tour has not been limited to Louisiana, cable news, and the endorsement column of Esquire Magazine. The Times of London profiled Ms. Daniels’ potential candidacy, as did Canada, Brazil, Israel, Germany and Spain.

We have always felt that Stormy embodies the qualities necessary to make her a phenomenal senator, and we are thrilled that others are starting to take notice as well.

Thank you so much for your continued support, and stay tuned for future listening tour events and news items. And if you have not done so already, take the time to subscribe to the DraftStormy YouTube channel, and join the DraftStormy Facebook group!
