After being open for a year, the Pelican Theatre is finding itself stuck in financial troubles-again

(LA HABRA, CA) — The owners said legal fees have become the primary expense for the nude juice bar on Imperial Highway, which last week filed for bankruptcy protection after being denied twice before.

The controversial adult entertainment club has spent four years in legal battles with the city. Now it’s asking La Habra to pay $190,000 in attorneys fees.

Owner Bill Badi Gammoh and his partner Bassam Diab Moussa are trying for a third time to get Chapter 11 protection to refinance their business, which was in danger of closure when the court ordered a judgment of $200,000 to a former partner who sued Gammoh and Moussa in 1997 over a personal business dispute.
