A national organization, PAW is a charitable outreach organization, with the goal of improving the quality of life for workers in the adult entertainment industry – actors, actresses, dancers, directors, writers, photographers, technicians, retail and warehouse employees. It provides health training and awareness programs, health and life insurance, pension program information, and peer counseling.
For the event, celebrities and fans descended on Stevi’s South Central club for the two-day affair. According to reports there was a good crowd on Friday, with the house packed wall to wall on Saturday night. An estimated 150 people were in attendance. Fans were treated to exotic dance shows by pornstars, the Stevi Secret’s strippers, raffles and short speeches by political activists, swingers and celebrity introductions.
The highlight of the evening was the PAW lingerie auction where the winning bidder was allowed to remove the model’s clothing using only his teeth! During the two days, over $1000 was raised for PAW. On hand for the event were PAW spokesman Bill Margold, XXX film stars Alexis On Fire, Randi Storm and Rubee Tuesday. Nationally known film stars with a Phoenix connection, Porsche Lynn, Brittany O’Connell and Stevi Secret participated. Adding to the local flavor, was the presence of a number of Arizona “webgirls” including Tish (Dreamnet.com), KC (SexyKC.com), Dawn Marie (DawnMariesDream.com), Brooke (WebHoneys.com), Haley (HeavenlyHaleyNude.com) and Sedonna Redrock (Yahoo! Group SedonnaCam).
Commenting on the event PAW spokesman Bill Margold told AVN.com “The money isn’t really the important part – it’s raising awareness. We need to take our message on the road so a wider audience can hear it. Stevi Secret’s place was a wonderful location for the event – here’s a woman who set herself up with a property that will continually provide her with income. She didn’t go out and get a car or a new dress – she saved her money and invested it. That’s a great example for the girls, and is part of what PAW represents,”
Adds Ms. Secret, “For a first time in Phoenix, I’d have to rate PAW a success. We accomplished our goals not only of raising money for PAW but also bringing together a number of local people and highlighting some Arizona issues. This is just the beginning. We will be having more such awareness raising events including PAW 2 in December 2003.”
