(ATLANTA, GA) — Although it may be months before the Gold Club and the triangular piece of real estate it sits on are sold, Atlanta’s rapid transit system, MARTA is already posturing for taking over the land it sits on.
Many have speculated that MARTA had a lot to gain if the Gold Club was to be turned over to Federal Authorities. So much so, MARTA officials received daily briefing on the daily courtroom activities. The land would be a prime sport for MARTA expansion, either as a rail spur or a parking lot.
Federal officials say there is no timetable as to when the Gold Club could be put on the auction block. Also, it was noted that no deal with MARTA was, or is in the works for the property. One authority said he didn’t know who would end up with the club and the land, the possibility exists that another strip club could end up there.
