Traci Lords, a former teen porn star turned mainstream actress, has filed for divorce from her actor husband Ryan Riel Grainger, according to court papers.

The 31-year-old actress from north Redondo Beach cited irreconcilable differences in seeking an end to the couple’s marriage. The couple were married June 26, and have been living apart since Jan. 5, the divorce papers say.

Lords filed the petition Friday in Torrance Superior Court acting as her own attorney. The papers say the couple have no mi nor children.

Lords and Grainger were seen frequently together attending the actress’s trial last fall in which she sued a video distributor for selling without her permission an adult video she made just after turning 18 in 1986. Grainger was at his wife’s side every day of the copyright infringement trial.

In December, a jury in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles awarded Lords $130,000 in damages against Caballero Control Group of Van Nuys, which had sold the video “Traci, I Love You,” shot in Cannes, France. The company also illegally sold an offshoot called “A Taste of Traci” containing hard-core scenes from the video, jurors found.

“Traci, I Love You” was the only hard-core film she made after turning 18.

A phone message left on Lords’ voice mail was not returned Tuesday. Grainger could not be reached for comment.

Born Nora Louise Kuzma in Steubenville, Ohio, Lords and her mother moved to north Redondo Beach in the late 1970s. She attended Redondo Union High School, dropping out in 1983.

From age 15 to 18, Lords starred in about 70 porn films before U.S. officials found out about her activities. The videos are banned in the United States.

Since then, Lords got out of the porn business, studied acting at Los Angeles’ Lee Strasberg Institute and has had roles in big-screen films such as “Cry Baby” and “Not of This Earth.” She’s also appeared in TV movies such as “Intent to Kill” and “The Tommyknockers.”

More recently, she’s appeared in “Chump Change,” a 1999 movie comedy, and “D.R.E.A.M. Team,” a 1999 TV movie. She is in production in an action-adventure movie called “Epicenter.”
