(VAN NUYS, CA) — When Vivid won the AVN Award for Best Film in Las Vegas last week for Fade to Black it marked the fourth time in the past six years that a Vivid film has taken the top prize in the adult entertainment world competition. Fade to Black joins other Vivid classic winners of recent years: Seven Deadly Sins (2000), Bad Wives (1998) and Bobby Sox (1997). Paul Thomas, who won Best Director-Film for Fade to Black, also directed Bad Wives and Bobby Sox.

The Vivid booth was the place to be at Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. Vivid Girls Briana Banks, Kira Kener, Cheyenne Silver, Jenna Jameson, Taylor Hayes, Chelsea Sinclaire, and Dasha were crowd magnets. During the AEE, Vivid Interactive held numerous retailer promotions, with such prizes as a Sony, 27-inch Vega television set and vacations to Cancun, the Bahamas and Hawaii.

Vivid wrapped up the old year and kicked off the New Year with non-stop parties.

There was the "Erotic Exotic Winter Wonderland" bash at Opium Gardens in Miami’s South Beach on Friday, December 28th. A twin-engine plane flew back and forth over the most beautiful beach in Miami towing the Vivid logo. DJ Mark Leventhal spun till the wee hours for a crowd estimated at 3,000.

The hot place to be in chilly Utah on January 18th was the Silvermine, a converted Park City mineshaft that was the site of "Giant Snow Ball," a major party co-hosted by Vivid with Giant LA. Jenna Jameson and Chelsea Sinclaire were the featured guests at the dance party on the final night of Slamdance. Giant LA provided world class DJs Anthony Pappa of Global Underground, along with Colette and Valerie.

Vivid was the subject of an in-depth feature in the Los Angeles Times Magazine on January 6th. Readers learned about the company’s origins and growth, and the role played by the first Vivid Girl, Ginger Lynn. The article spawned a flurry of additional mainstream interest in Vivid.
