(SUN VALLEY, CA) — Winter typically signals that things are cooling down, but the action at Private USA just got a little bit hotter. That’s because multi-AVN award-nominated director Axel Braun has signed on to helm a brand new high budget feature for Private!
“I viewed Axel’s movie Compulsion and thought I was watching a Private movie,” says Private USA General Manager Ric Williams. “After that, I knew we had to have him direct for us!”
“I’m very happy about working with Private,” says Braun. “It’s a big step up professionally, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be associated with a company of this caliber. Being able to shoot high-quality features and having them distributed in 48 countries is a dream come true.”
The high-quality feature in question, Cadillac Highway, follows the story of a southern girl who leaves her home town for the bright lights and big city of Los Angeles to chase her dreams of becoming a rock star. Naturally, things aren’t always what they seem.
“Unfortunately her only contact in Hollywood is no longer a music producer, but a porn mogul,” Braun explains. “Disillusioned, she takes off for Vegas in an old Cadillac convertible with the ghost of Elvis. Their surreal road trip takes her to hell and back, but inspires her to find her true self.”
Does Braun feel as though he must outdo his last masterpiece, Compulsion?
“Talk about pressure,” Braun laughs. “I guess after the thirteen nominations Compulsion got, the expectations are higher than usual. This movie will be slightly different being that it’ll be shot on 24P video instead of film, and it’s not as dramatic. But the quality and my commitment to make it great are just the same. After all, with a father like Lasse Braun, I have some pretty big shoes to fill!”
Braun is holding a casting session at 2pm today at Private’s offices in Sun Valley, located at 10947 Pendleton Street.
Says Braun, “I need people who really enjoy acting. Building a connection between the audience and the characters is a very important part of creating the sexual tension that I need to make the story flow. I need them to be motivated and committed. To me, it’s never ‘just a porn movie’ so it’s my duty to inspire them to give their best.”
