Oh, the games people play… Well, at least some people, namely the consumers who have taken to Peach DVD’s line of interactive erotica. Starring the increasingly high-profile Jenna Jameson and other so-called “Peach girls,” titles such as Ultra Vixens and others have proven appealing to users — not just viewers — who enjoy the interactive choices they can make using a remote-control device.
Such interactivity has allowed Peach to appeal to the game-playing crowd as much as the DVD-viewing crowd. Now Peach is selling its product to Mecca Electronics, one of the largest game distributors in the industry.
“They have just rolled out an introductory offer to their existing customers, and will start carrying our titles,” said Peach DVD spokesman Robbie Conley. “The interactivity of our titles is growing, and becoming a staple of our marketing.”
In the just-released Tricks and Treats, players make choices leading to provocative outcomes, and in Welcome to Peach Island, streeting this week, players who match the right lei to the right Peach girl earn additional bonus scenes.
“The game-playing demographic is definitely crossing over for us,” Conley said. “We did market research and were surprised by how many of our consumers were using game devices to experience our product.”
With males age 18-35 as its primary demographic, the game crowd is a natural, Conley said.
“It helps us go beyond video retail outlets to game outlets,” he said. “Erotica is the perfect genre for this kind of menu-ing, because this is a product that people usually watch more than once, because they get variety.”
Other upcoming titles include Bikini Bash Dec. 9 and Erotic Gallery Jan. 6.
