Powered by the DivX(tm) Open Video System from DivXNetworks, the new service offers a secure solution for full-screen, near-DVD quality titles that users can download and begin watching in a matter of minutes.
For the minimal rental fee of $14.99, users can watch a movie as many times as they want for a whole month (rewinding or fast forwarding as often as one likes) without ever having to worry about getting it back to the video store on time. Additionally, with the DivX “progressive playback” feature, users can begin viewing the film before download has completed, offering the convenience of streaming at a much higher quality level. “We are the first entertainment aggregator to deliver this kind of technology on a large scale,” says Ilan Buni, Game Link’s founder and CEO. “Although there has been a lot of talk about downloadable movies being the wave of the future, mainstream studios and entertainment companies are just not prepared yet take the leap.”

Game Link has launched the service with 100 titles and new titles are being added on a weekly basis. The company anticipates there will be over 1000 titles available by December 2002. Offerings include films from top studios such as Elegant Angel, Jill Kelly Productions, Sin City and Digital Sin. All titles are Drm (Digital Rights Management) protected.
