(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) — The first Bobblehead doll of an adult entertainer will be appropriately modeled after Jenna Jameson, the most popular porn star of all time. She will be immortalized in a series of six 8-inch tall Bobblehead dolls created by Video Age, Inc., a leading adult entertainment products catalog sales firm based in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
In the first doll of the series, an oversized head nods atop an anatomically correct figure of Jenna wearing high platform shoes, and a low-cut, blue mini-dress showing plenty of cleavage. The doll in its unsigned version sells for $24.95, while dolls signed by Jenna cost $99.95. The Jenna bobblehead doll, available through VideoAge.com and the Video Age catalog, will begin to ship this fall. Early customers will be able to purchase a Jenna key chain tag personalized with the buyer’s name and featuring a photo outtake from the upcoming “I Dream of Jenna” movie, plus a free DVD or VHS “four-pack” of Jenna videos.
“We’re going to have a lot of fun with this doll – it is cartoony and zany, and I know it’s me because it even has my tattoos,” said Jenna, who has been called the person who “put the star in porn star” by Rolling Stone magazine and was named the top female adult actress of all time by Adult Video News.
“Video Age is doing a six-doll series of hand-painted, high quality ceramic resin Jenna bobbleheads, some of which she will personally sign,” according to Allan J. Laufer, Sales/Marketing Manager, Video Age, Inc. “Jenna is such a powerful pop culture icon that we expect them to become instant collectibles.” the second doll in the series will depict “Nurse Jenna” and will be available in the first quarter of 2003, Mr. Laufer said.
Mr. Laufer said the first doll will be marketed through a two-page spread in a special supplement to the 18-million-drop Video Age catalog, and in advertisements appearing in Club, Penthouse, Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, Motor Trend, Premiere, and US magazines.
Bobbleheads, ceramic resin dolls with heads that nod up and down and from side to side, have been around in one form or another since the 1950s and have become a craze in the past couple of years, particularly those that feature major league baseball players and other high-profile athletes.
