(VAN NUYS, CA) — Vivid Entertainment Group, the world’s leading producer of adult films, and Larry Flynt Publications (LFP), publisher of over 30 magazines including Hustler and an ongoing leader in the adult entertainment business, have signed a contract under which all aspects of Vivid’s video and DVD distribution in the U.S. Will be handled exclusively by LFP. The functions, to be operated and controlled by LFP, will include warehousing, sales, shipping and other distribution related duties. Terms of the multi-year agreement were not disclosed.
Vivid’s President Bill Asher said that the deal has the added benefit of allowing Vivid to devote more resources to its core business, the production of new films, as well as to growth areas such as it’s popular Internet sites including Vivid.com and the company’s international arm that includes the licensing of rights for wholesale distribution and establishment of broadcasting joint ventures outside the U.S.
Beginning August 1, LFP will assume responsibility for sales and distribution of approximately eighty new Vivid feature productions yearly, Vivid’s new compilations and a library of more than 1,000 titles. Both Vivid’s National Sales Manager Howard Levine and Vivid Interactive National Sales Manager Jim Monroe will join LFP, thereby bolstering an already outstanding sales team.
