ED Preferred VIP Guide

ED Publications has just released its new 2008 VIP Guide, a 268-page annual directory of ”preferred” adult nightclubs, touring feature entertainers, and industry vendors.

”After nearly 20 years of publishing annual industry guides, we felt as if it was time to come full circle and once again publish a single, one-stop-source for every aspect of the adult nightclub industry,” says ED Associate Publisher Dave Manack. ”The challenge was, how could we create such a guide, without it being over 400 pages long? The answer-just select ‘preferred’ nightclubs, vendors and entertainers.

”The concept of ‘preferred’ is everywhere in our society today, and it’s particularly evident in the adult nightclub industry where preferred VIP service has taken the titty bars of two decades ago and turned them into the gentlemen’s clubs of today. As the only business magazine and annual convention for the multi-billion-dollar adult nightclub industry for almost two decades, we thought it was time to bring this concept of preferred into our annual reference guide.”

Says Manack, ”With that in mind, we have combined our annual guides into the VIP Guide, the definitive, one-stop reference guide to preferred clubs, vendors and entertainers. While every adult club, industry vendor and feature entertainer will be listed on the www.ExoticDancer.com website, for the printed 2008 VIP Guide we were more selective and only listed those clubs, vendors and entertainers who we felt are preferred and who should be showcased to consumers and industry professionals.”

The Clubs Section contains detailed listings on more than 1,000 of the 2,500 adult nightclubs in the ED database. Criteria that establishes the clubs in this section as ”preferred” includes advertisements in the VIP Guide or Ed’s Club Bulletin (the national, bimonthly business magazine for professionals in the adult nightclub industry); frequent attendance at the Annual Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo (produced by ED Publications); or membership in the ED VIP Club Card Program.

The club listings themselves this year have also changed a bit, and only include the most vital club statistics. Most listings include the type of dancing (nude, topless, etc.), the hours of operation, cover charge, clientele, type of food served, and club capacity. The final line on each listing notes whether they are a member of the ED VIP Club Card program. The ED VIP Card is good for free admission, half-price admission, a free drink and/or other special discounts at more than 850 topless and nude gentlemen’s clubs in the United States, Canada and even overseas.

The Entertainers Section contains photos, bio info, credits and contact information on those exotic dancers who are known as ”feature entertainers,” which means they tour the country doing week-long special show appearances at clubs from coast to coast. They are considered ”feature” acts because of their celebrity status from appearances in men’s magazines and/or adult movies, or because of their unique erotic shows for which they have won titles at national exotic dance competitions.

The Vendors Section contains detailed listing on those companies that specialize in products and services for the adult nightclub industry and the exotic dancer industry. There are thousands of companies that offer furniture or insurance or carpeting or high heels for sale, but there are only a handful that have demonstrated their sincere interest in marketing their products and services specifically to our industry by advertising in ED’s different publications, by attending the Annual Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo, and by sending in news items to the magazine.

The 2008 VIP Guide, which includes a free VIP Club Card, can be ordered for $34 (includes shipping costs) online at www.ExoticDancer.com or by calling 1-800- 2EXOTIC (1-800-239-6842).
