(SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA) — Aussie glamour girl beats Kiwis to become Australian Penthouse Pet of the Year 2004. Aussie and 21 year-old Brooke Frecklington, was named Australasian Penthouse Pet of the Year 2004 at a glittering event at the Establishment Hotel in Sydney last night. It was a popular win for the sports promotions manager who beat a bevy of local talent and a strong New Zealand contingent, to grace the winner’s dias and collect more than $40,000 in prizes.

Being named 2004 Pet of the Year is the crowning achievement for this hard-working and ambitious blonde. Moreover, it caps off a three-year plan that has seen her buy a house, a sports car and now grab a much-coveted title.

“Winning Pet of the Year 2004 means everything to me, especially as it’s the 25th anniversary title. Australian Penthouse is a great magazine that allows women to express their individuality and sexuality. And the girls always look so glamorous. I gave myself every chance of winning by working hard on my body in the lead-up to the original shoot. I don’t do anything by half measures I’m ecstatic that for the next twelve months I will be the face of the magazine.”

Says editor Graham Brown, “It’s 25 years since we crowned our first Pet of the Year – it’s a celebrated event that has defined the changing tastes of photography and the female form. Australian Penthouse has not only survived for a quarter of a century; we have thrived while reflecting changing attitudes towards sexuality in Australia. Australian Penthouse is the men’s magazine that doesn’t tease. We remain the number one adult men’s magazine because we deliver what we promise – a frank investigation into the social and sexual mores of today, coupled with the world’s best-looking women shot by the world’s best photographers.”

As 2004 Pet of the Year, Brooke joins a select list of Aussie talent who’ve used the title to springboard to fame and fortune including: TV Presenter, Rachel James; Temptation Island temptress, Georgina Simmonds; and entrepreneur and model Bree Maddox.

Says Brown, “Brooke embodies the Penthouse ideal and will be a great representative for the magazine – she’s got the looks, the smarts and a fantastic sense of humour.”

The Pet of the Year issue, featuring Brooke on the cover, is on sale now at the newsstands.
