(LOS ANGELES, CA) — X-Con Los Angeles X-Con Reported a Resounding Success, the Fans Have Spoken. The maiden voyage of the first ever X-Con convention took place this Sunday April 4th at Entertanium Studios and as far as the majority are concerned it was a resounding success.
When asked to give the media and general public an update, including her views and opinions of the event, Chief organizer and XXX star Layla Jade had the following to say: “As far as I am concerned X-Con was a resounding success and I know this to be true of how many people in the industry feel.
X-Con is an event that is different to normal conventions and as such there is little point in trying to compare us to AEE, Adult Con or AVN because that is not what we are trying to do.
X-Con is a cultural event by and for the women of this industry, it is designed to give something back to the female performers of our industry including the opportunity to promote themselves, meet their fans and sell their merchandise on a regular basis. X-con is about the girls and the fans, its about improving performer and fan relations and giving something back to the industry that we have grown to know and love”.
“The most important thing to us is that people enjoyed the event”, continued Jade, “we have amazing help and support from Nina Hartley and Sharon Mitchell both who are exemplary examples of strong and powerful women of this industry. We honored their presence and achievements with awards and support.
Judy Kirk and Jane Hamilton are also great advocates of our event, this is the kinds of involvement that we want for X-Con, these and the additional female stars that attended, are woman who understand and support exactly what it is that we are trying to do, as does Adam and Eve, Las Vegas Novelties, Red Light District, Sineplex, PAW, the Free Speech Coalition, Dick Smothers Jr, Dennis Hof, Roy Karch and many, many more. X-Con is an industry positive event and we will do all we can to keep it that way.”
When asked about the fans, Jade continued on to comment that she had had many of the 150 attendees approach her and thanks her for putting on such a great event.
“The feelings and the good vibes that I got from the fans were enough right there to make it all worth while”, said Jade who noted that many of the fans had already asked her when the next event would be taking place.
The girls had a good time, the fans had a good time, the press had a good time and so did the companies. That makes my day. That was all that we ever wanted.
The organizers of X-Con would like to extend a big Thank you to all of those who participated in the event, and look forward to your involvement in the future. For more information on the event you can visit the X-Con website (due to be updated) XXX-con.com or call 213-489-2001.
