(CHATSWORTH, CA) — Adult Video News will announce its 2003 AVN Award Show nominations tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 15). The full list of hundreds of nominations will be available on the AVN.com Website at the same time letters are mailed to adult industry producers notifying them of the nominees for the coveted awards, which have been called the “Oscars” of the adult film industry.
“The hundreds of nominations in dozens of categories are the result of lengthy and intensive discussions about the merits of the numerous productions, augmented by the screening of videos and DVDs, held for parts of two weeks earlier this month by the AVN editorial staff,” said AVN Editor in Chief Mike Ramone. “The nominations represent the very best our industry has to offer.”
AVN voters will complete their balloting next month, with the winners to be announced Jan. 11 at the 20th annual AVN Awards Show at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
The big individual title winners at the 2002 Awards Show included Vivid’s “Fade to Black,” which won eight Awards, including Best Film, and Wicked’s “Euphoria,” which took home seven honors, including Best Video Feature. Production companies that took home the most Awards were Evil Angel, VCA and Wicked – 10 Awards apiece – followed closely by Vivid with nine Awards.
