(ENCINO, CA) — Already backed by more than 100 signed exhibitors, the fifth annual AVN Adult Entertainment Expo has been scheduled for January 9-12, 2003 and will be held once again at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is the largest and most comprehensive adult entertainment event in the industry. The trade show features more than 200 companies in the exhibit hall along with over 400 of the hottest and newest adult stars. During the four-day gathering, industry attendees and fans alike will have the opportunity to interact with an extensive network of trade professionals involved in every aspect of the adult industry, including distribution, manufacturing, interactive media, e-tailing, and novelty items.
Some of the adult entertainment companies already committed to the 2003 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo include Digital Playground, Evil Angel, Hustler Video, Penthouse, VCA Pictures, Vivid Video, and Wicked Pictures.
"This year’s show was such a tremendous success – setting an all-time high of attendance records – we are already looking forward to next year’s event," said Mary Thompson, Show Manager for Home Entertainment Events at Advanstar Communications, Inc. "The exhibitors offered both trade and fan attendees a very exciting show, and were happy with the packed crowds on the show floor and the amount of business they conducted. We are experiencing phenomenal growth within the industry and expect that growth to continue."
"There will be plenty for everybody at the show – bigger and better exhibits, parties, and extra events," said Paul Fishbein, AVN Publisher. "A special highlight next year will be the 20th Anniversary AVN Awards Show on January 11, 2003. So mark your calendars now."
Overall Expo attendance at the 2002 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo was up 38% and fan attendance at the show was up 26%. There were more than 15,000 fan attendees and 6,500 industry professionals among approximately 23,500 show goers. Additionally, the number of exhibiting totaled 179, up 16% from 2001.
"The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, like the adult entertainment industry, continues to grow and generate strong consumer support year after year," said Carrie Dieterich, VSDA Vice President of Marketing and Industry Relations. "Most interesting this year was the amount of general interest media attention the show generated. We expect this trend to continue in the years ahead."
