(SILVERLAKE, CA) — Do you remember when you were a little kid and you would wake up and call your friends and you would say that magical little sentence… "Wanna come over and play?"
Wasn’t that great? Don’t you miss those happy days? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if life was just one giant playground and we could all build castles in the sandbox together?
Wouldn’t it?
Okay… maybe not. After all, being a kid actually kind of sucked. We were all probably beaten by our parents or forced into child labour or had to wear ugly mittens. Hell, all my friends were invisible and they wouldn’t give me their phone numbers, so I wasn’t waking up and calling anyone except my psychiatrist. Plus, do you know how many infectious bacteria you can get in a sandbox?? Happy days… Happy days my Ass!
So on that note… "The Freak Show" is proud to announce an evening of Fun and Games!!!!
Ring Tosses, Pie Throwing, Diving Horses, Twister, Sex… Lots of Sex… And Card Tricks!
Plus, the return of the two most popular rock acts we have had since "The Freak Show" began…
First) "Heavy Metal Shock Rock Porn Star" Joe Romero. (If you have not seen him perform before, you must… you might be frightened but you will never forget it. People have been begging us to book him again for the past year since he last performed.
AND SECOND… BUTCHER HOLLER!!! The last time they played "The Freak Show" the girls were rocking out on top of the bar and on the shoulders of one of the patrons. This band has a huge following, and contains members from such local bands as "The Stone Foxes" and "War Pigs" (who recently played one of the big Silver Lake Film Festival parties.) In fact, this band is so good… I not even sure how we got them.
Both of these bands are featured on our CD… and both of them kick some playground ass.
So stop reading this way too long e-mail (the first draft was really short but someone erased it… grr.) and start making plans for this FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!

"The Freak Show" takes place on the first Friday of each month at 4219 Santa Monica Blvd. in Silver Lake, CA 90029. It is one part Carnival, one part Cabaret, one part Rock&Roll, and a pretty fun time for all. If you are Freak, you’ll fit right in, if you are not… then you’ll have a great time laughing at those who are. The cover is $7, we are open from 9PM to 3AM, our DJ Lewis is the grooviest, and we have drink specials. Every month is a little different… we encourage creative dress and feel free to put on a show of your own.
