(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The teenage boy’s ultimate dream job? Try this one on For size: You land a lucrative position as a print journalist at 16, interviewing everyone from Linda Blair to Ginger Lynn for magazines ranging from Entertainment Weekly to Femme Fatales. As soon as you’re legal, the adult biz snags you with options to pen your own columns for various men’s magazines and the chance to sign on as Head Talent Coordinator for Internet mogul Danni Ashe. Recently turned 21, Jason Sechrest has been there. He’s done that. Next stop? Somewhere in front of the camera.
Though you won’t find Sechrest performing in any adult films, you will see him getting down and dirty with RuPaul on AVN Live in the coming weeks. The special musical guest of this year’s GayVN Awards, RuPaul will be giving Sechrest an exclusive pre-show interview. As AVN Live’s broadcast journalist for the evening, he’ll also take to the red carpet snagging commentaries from this year’s nominees. The 2001 GayVN Awards will commence this Friday, March 16th, fronted by funny man Bruce Vilanch with Hall of Fame inductees including the legendary Zak Spears and Kevin Williams. Sechrest says his picks for the best of the year include actor Tony Donovan and “anything that’s been put out under Atomic’s label. They’re the creme de la creme, as far as I’m concerned.” Puns always intended.
You can also find Sechrest at his most sexually explicit to date on the Flynt Digital operated site Inches.com. The web home of the popular X-rated gay zine is now also home to the monthly talk show “DV8 Boi LIVE.” Sechrest explains: “My concept was to take our subjects out into the real world and interview them while shopping at Hustler Hollywood or having breakfast at IHOP. I didn’t want it to be like so many other web shows I’ve seen where it’s just two people sitting in a studio talking about themselves. Due to the crazy locations we’re picking, hilarity often ensues!” Episodes with Stonie and Chris Green have been posted for member’s only.
In a more mainstream vein, Sechrest’s first starring role in Jason Paul Collum’s independent film “Julia Wept” will be released this Spring with a special interview featuring he and his co-star, horror icon Brinke Stevens. Meanwhile, he prepares to begin shooting his principle role in Rick Dees’ co-produced television pilot “Phoenix Rising,” with talk of the series being picked up by FOX in the Fall.
