(ENCINO, CA) — Some of the most prominent lawyers in the adult industry will be participating in the most requested and well attended seminars, focused on critical legal issues that adult retailers face, during the 2008 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. The Expo will take place on Wednesday, January 9, thru Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Legal seminars offered at the Expo are:

“Arthur Schwartz Legal Seminar: Recent Developments in Obscenity Law and Adult Record-keeping” – Thursday January 10, 1:30-3:00 pm. The renewed focus on the enforcement of obscenity laws and complex new federal regulations on record-keeping for adult products presents challenges for producers, distributors, and retailers. Renowned attorneys, Paul Cambria and Lou Sirkin, will discuss recent developments in these areas and the steps individuals and companies need to take to be in compliance with these laws and regulations.

“Adult Industry Law Open Forum” – Friday January 11, 11:30 am-1:00 pm. This round-table discussion is available for attendees to openly address leading adult industry lawyers Jeffrey J. Douglas, Lawrence G. Walters, and Michael W. Fattorosi, with questions and topics about the laws pertaining to the adult industry.

“Stick-‘Em-Up! Pirates Continue to Plunder” – Friday January 11, 1:30-3:00 pm. Increased losses due to piracy are a proverbial thorn in the side of many retailers, distributors, and studios. However, a court decision earlier this year awarded millions of dollars to two key suppliers of adult product in a DVD piracy case. This seminar focuses on the effort being made to use the legal system to confront pirates. Speakers include attorney Allan Gelbard, Jules Jordan, Erick Shut of TLA, Mark Sprague with Bay Tsp, and a representative from Evil Angel.
