(LOS ANGELES, CA) — Mr. Marcus, adult veteran, AVN Award winner, director and star of over 1,300 movies, adds business mogul to his resume with the upcoming launch of his business venture, Daddy Inc.
While Marcus has no intention of leaving the adult industry, he stresses that Daddy Inc.’s focus is to offer adult-oriented and mainstream products branded by the company. Previously unreleased footage — including features shot by Marcus — will carry the Daddy Inc. label. The new company is also home to an expanding apparel line sporting its logo. Future plans include sex toys, an online magazine (daddyinc.net), the continuation of Mr. Marcus’ regular parties and the development of explicit and non-explicit sections for mrmarcus.com, the first for an adult performer.
“Keeping your fans on your site with material that’s designed for hardcore and less-than-hardcore tastes is something I think will become more prevalent,” he said.
In the way high profile adult magazines made their way into businesses outside of the industry, Marcus sees Daddy Inc. bringing the worlds of adult, mainstream and hip-hop culture together.
“What Daddy Inc. Will offer is a chance for the guy and girl at home to be an active part of the adult entertainment lifestyle,” Marcus said. “I want to offer a complete experience, from what you’d expect from an adult company, like movies and toys, to clothes that are coming from an adult attitude. I expect Daddy Inc.’s apparel line to be successful in the same way you can appreciate Sean John in a hip-hop fashion sense, is the same way I hope Daddy, Inc.’s clothing apparel can be appreciated in the adult sense. The daddyinc.net website will feature mature, but not hardcore, content and it’ll feature content from our parties and track my new endeavor for my fans.”
The choice of the company’s name came from much soul-searching on the part of Marcus. Throughout his career he’s given, and continues to give, counsel to many members of the adult industry, including some that are his senior.
“You can look at ‘daddy’ in many different ways,” he said. “It can mean being an authoritative figure in life to giving a commanding performance in the bedroom. For me it reflects a sense of direction, positivity and the commitment to see things through. The motto of our company is ‘Guidance is King.’ Guidance, to seek your father and in some cases it may just be a father figure and as far as I’m concerned I’m Daddy. One hundred percent.”
Marcus, known for his Valentine’s Day revelries, will officially begin business for Daddy Inc. With a party slated at Nacional, 1645 Wilcox Ave., Hollywood, Calif., with doors opening at 9:30 p.m. on June 17 — Father’s Day. As a prominent figure in the black community, Marcus — a father in his personal life — added that he didn’t want to be known only as a sexual performer. He plans on giving back through a non-profit organization funded by Daddy Inc., daddyinc.org.
